A Brief of the Keynote Speech of H.E. Minister Bruno Dantas; President of the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) of Brazil and INTOSAI Chair, during the 78th INTOSAI Governing Board Meeting

Bruno Dantas: We are facing a rapidly changing world and are committed to the highest standards of accountability and integrity.
H.E. Minister Bruno Dantas; President of the Federal Court of Accounts of Brazil and INTOSAI Chair, declared that the 78th INTOSAI Governing Board Meeting represents a pivotal moment in INTOSAI's journey, stressing that the world is facing rapid changes and increasing complexity in public governance, which requires adherence to the highest standards of accountability, integrity and good governance.
Dantas referred, in the Meeting’s Opening Speech, that the Governing Board's decisions shape the strategic orientations of our INTOSAI and have a profound effect on governance worldwide, praising the effective role conducted by the Supreme Audit Institutions through their partnerships under the INTOSAI umbrella.
The INTOSAI Chair extended sincere thanks to the Accountability State Authority of the Arab Republic of Egypt for hosting this Meeting and commended the hospitality that provided an ideal environment for conducting a meaningful dialogue about the future of INTOSAI.
Dantas announced that 2024 marks his second and final year as President of both the Federal Court of Accounts of Brazil and the INTOSAI Governing Board, in accordance with the rules applied by the Federal Court of Accounts of Brazil which stipulate the rotation of the presidency among members. He added that Minister Vital do Rêgo will assume the Presidency of the Federal Court of Accounts of Brazil and, consequently, the Chairmanship of INTOSAI starting January 2025.
On concluding his speech, Dantas commended the contributions of the Governing Board members, stressing that their expertise and commitment enable INTOSAI to face the era’s challenges and enhance its role as a key player in the global governance landscape
